Following wide spread of criticism of the Oscar Pistorius' manslaughter verdict, the prosecutors have confirmed they are going to appeal the verdict and five-year prison sentence .They insist their goal is to secure a murder conviction.
Under the current terms, Pistorius is eligible for release after 10 months and would then complete his sentence under house arrest. Prosecution spokesman Nathi Mncube said the next step would be to file papers in court.Chief lawyer Gerrie Nel is holding urgent meetings with the country's most senior legal experts to build a case.
If they go to court, it is unsure how Pistorius would fund a second trail as he is said to have spent $1.6 million in legal fees and is still owing his legal team about $700,000.
