#BokoHaram: Court Frees Ogwuche, Suspected Nyanya Bombing Mastermind

 
Premium Times reports that a Federal court sitting in Abuja has freed Aminu Ogwuche, suspected to have been the mastermind of the Nyanya bomb attack in Abuja in April 2015 that killed more than 70 people.


The two-count terrorism charges brought against Mr. Ogwuche was struck out by the court, after months of trial . The court was said to have freed him on the basis of lack of diligent prosecution on the part of the state.

The suspect, however was not discharged as he is still been detained by the Department of State Security Service .

The Nigerian government accused Mr. Ogwuche, a suspected Boko Haram member, of being behind the attack. The government said Mr. Ogwuche fled to Sudan after coordinating the attack. But was later repatriated to Nigeria to face charges.
