Based on unfolding facts, one is forced to believe that the President of Chad, Idriss Deby, may have taken the Federal Government of Nigeria 'for a ride' over the phantom ceasefire deal with Boko Haram.
Vanguardngr.com quotes TheCable as saying that the Federal Government is now trying to ascertain whether the phony deal was sold deliberately by Deby to Nigeria or if the Chadian president himself had also been deceived into believing it was genuine.
Vanguard sources said,
"Déby was said to be working for Boko Haram as he has refused to communicate with Nigeria since the insurgents renewed their attacks,"
“Nigerian government officials no longer have access to Déby, who is now said to be sick. It appears he set us up to drop our guard and allow Boko Haram to gain ground,” .
