To build a more effective regional coalition against the Boko Haram sect, President Muhammadu Buhari will visit Cameroon on Wednesday for talks with President Paul Biya and senior Cameroonian Government officials.

The talks between Buhari and his Cameroonian counterpart, according to a statement issued by Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, are expected to focus on the full activation and deployment of the Multinational Joint Task Force against Boko Haram, which has been established under the auspices of the Lake Chad Basin Commission.

Nuhu Ribadu set to Emerge as PDP Chairman

The best thing that can happen to PDP, may be about to take place, with news of former EFCC boss, Nuhu Ribadu, set to emerge as the new chairman of the party.

According to the Leadership Daily, the leaders of the PDP are reportedly zeroing in on Ribadu because of the public perception that he has integrity to match that of President Muhammadu Buhari who is now APC’s leader.

War on Insurgency: Moving detainees or “suspects” to “faraway” Anambra State will not solve any problem.

I equally mentioned briefly his running battles with the Presidency, at which point, Amaechi threw all decency to the Atlantic Ocean and embarked on a mission of unprintable attacks on Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GCFR) ex-President of the Nigerian Sovereign State. The totality of it all pointed to the fact that his actions and inactions led to the defeat of the APC in Rivers State by the PDP in all the elections, from the Presidency to the Governorship including the State House of Assembly. That Amaechi refused to vote in the presidential election, also directing his APC faithful members not to vote was a direct action which tilted towards an undefined failure and a fatal bruising of the ego of the ex-Governor.

Months after the 2015 elections ended, Nigerian youths are still hung up on those elections. Nowhere is this more obvious than on social media which our youths have turned to a battle ground divided into pro People Democratic Party (PDP) and pro All Progressives Congress (APC) youths. So ingrained is this animosity that each group targets elected officials and party chieftains of the opposing parties and go after them just on the basis of their party affiliation. Things reached a comical stage when a youth attacked me for a tweet on Twitter and hours later was praising a popular youth for his tweet. Unbeknownst to him was the fact that the youth had merely tweeted my exact words but had not credited me with the quote!

Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El Rufai has declared that he is worth N90 billion and about 40 mansions in assets. The governor’s assets declaration came as a big shock to most Kaduna residents yesterday as he allegedly declared ownership of 40 mansions, most of which are located in Abuja.

According to reports, Kaduna State Director Code of Conduct Bureau, George David, however, declined to comment when contacted.

Mark ‘Not Favoured’ In PDP Zoning Arrangement

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has zoned its principal offices in the national assembly and it appears David Mark, former senate president, will not be occupying the position of senate minority leader.

Olisa Metuh, spokesman of the PDP, said party has zoned the minority leader of the upper chamber of the national assembly to the south-south while the deputy minority leader will go to the north-east.
