Photos: Barack and Michelle Obama Visit Saudi Arabia's New King

President Barack Obama cut short his trip to India to visit Riyadh on Tuesday to pay his respects following the death of King Abdullah and to meet with his successor, King Salman.

The Obamas were greeted by an armed Saudi honor guard and a military band playing the national anthems for both the US and Saudi Arabia.

Several members of the all-male Saudi delegation refused to shake First Lady Michelle Obama's hand.

ISIS demands $200M ransom for 2 Japanese hostages

Terrorist group, Islamic State in Iraq and Syria(ISIS) has threatened to kill two Japanese hostages they recently captured, unless it receives $200 million USD in 72 hours from the Japanese Government.

Malian 'hero' of Paris attacks gets French nationality

A Malian Muslim who hid shoppers from an Islamist gunman during an attack on a Jewish supermarket in Paris will be given French nationality, the Interior Ministry said on Thursday.

After the gunman had already killed people during a hostage taking in the store on Friday, 24-year old shop attendant Lassana Bathily hid several people in the store's freezer, turned off the light and told them to stay calm.

According to Associated Press reports, hundreds of bodies — too many to count — remain strewn in the bush in Nigeria from an Islamic extremist attack that Amnesty International suggested Friday is the "deadliest massacre" in the history of Boko Haram.

Mike Omeri, the government spokesman on the insurgency, said fighting continued Friday for Baga, a town on the border with Chad where insurgents seized a key military base on Jan. 3 and attacked again on Wednesday.

"Security forces have responded rapidly, and have deployed significant military assets and conducted airstrikes against militant targets," Omeri said in a statement.

Appeal Court Frees Akingbola Of N47.5b Theft Charge

A Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos has quashed the 22-count charge brought against the former Managing Director of the defunct Intercontinental Bank Plc, Dr. Erastus Akingbola by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The EFCC had alleged that Akingbola stole N47.5 billion belonging to the bank.
